Sundance Highlight: Body Horror Comedy ‘Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant’ [Image]
The Sundance Film Festival is just weeks away, and soon we’ll find out which are this year’s most hyped horror movies to look forward to.
One that we’re keeping an eye on is XYZ’s comedy body horror, Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant, a feature version of New Zealand filmmaking duo Thunderlips‘s short film.
Dread has a first-look image from the film blending lived experience with outrageousness. “Equal parts funny, frightening, and emotional,” hypes the press release, “it follows a messy millennial underachiever who becomes accidentally alien pregnant and must navigate skeptical doctors, a useless baby daddy, and her relentlessly oversharing mom.”
Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant will celebrate its world premiere as part of the Midnight section on Friday, January 23.
