It’s hard to believe that New Blood Interactive’s Gloomwood has been in Early Access on Steam for the past three years. Still, developers Dillon Rogers, David Szymanski, Nate Berens and Thomas Porta have been cranking out updates for the stealth horror game, with the latest being the Hightown Update to start off 2026.

As revealed in the new trailer for update, players have a new toy to play with, a new area to explore, and a new foe in the pig-faced constable. Players will be able to explore the new Hightown District, which is appropriately gothic and gloomy. They’ll also be able to make use of a new revolver that is fixed to a rifle stock, and comes with a scope for those aforementioned “pesky” constables.

For those who have yet to play Gloomwood (and never checked out Aaron’s Early Access review), the game harkens back to Looking Glass Studios’ stealth classic Thief, but with a helping of horror thrown in.
