Body Horror Comedy ‘Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant’ Heads to Sundance This Month
Body horror comedy Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant will have its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival as part of the Midnight section on January 23.
Get your first look at the film below, which is said to be equal parts funny, frightening, and emotional in its blend of lived experience with outrageous imagination.
It follows a messy millennial underachiever who accidentally gets alien-pregnant. She must overcome skeptical doctors, a useless baby-daddy, and her oversharing mum in order to survive and reclaim her life.
New Zealand filmmaking duo Thunderlips make their feature debut on the movie, based on their 2024 short Help, I’m Alien Pregnant.
Hannah Lynch (The Rule of Jenny Pen), Yvette Parsons (What We Do in the Shadows), Arlo Green (M3GAN), and Jackie van Beek (What We Do in the Shadows) star.
Morgan Leigh Stewart (Deathgasm), Alix Whittaker, and Ilai Amar produce. Timothy White (I Am Mother) and Todd Brown (Mandy) executive produce.
XYZ Films is handling international sales for the project.
