Cosmic Films announced today the North American acquisition of Abrakadabra, the stylish and sinister modern giallo from acclaimed Argentine filmmaking duo Luciano Onetti and Nicolás Onetti (Francesca, What the Waters Left Behind).

In the film, Dante the Great, a world-renowned magician, dies in a tragic stage accident during a perilous illusion. Thirty-five years later, his son Lorenzo, now a celebrated magician himself, prepares for a major performance in one of the city’s most prestigious theaters. But when a string of brutal murders unfolds and evidence begins pointing directly to him, Lorenzo must unravel the deadly mystery before the final curtain falls.

Originally premiering at international film festivals in 2018, the film earned praise for its vivid authenticity, razor-sharp aesthetic, and pitch-perfect homage to classic Italian giallo cinema, yet it was never given a wide release, hypes the press release.
