Netflix has emerged victorious from an intense bidding war for the film rights to Torso, the true crime graphic novel about the Cleveland Torso Murderer, THR reports.

The streamer is in early development on a feature adaptation with Weapons filmmaker Zach Cregger producing under his Subconscious banner.

Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (Weapons, IT) is also producing alongside Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund via their Eat the Cat (“Cape Fear,” “Chucky”).

Torso creators Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko will executive produce.
